Tottenham Hotspur have endured significant injury setbacks over the past two seasons, with numerous first-team players missing extended periods. Earlier this campaign, ahead of their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, Spurs were without 13 senior players due to a mix of injuries, suspensions, and illness.
Their ongoing inability to consistently field a full-strength squad has affected performances and is seen as a major factor behind their recent struggles in the league.
Amid these concerns, reports from Corriere dello Sport indicate that Tottenham are targeting Evan Ndicka, currently playing for AS Roma. The defender had previously been linked with Spurs during the 2025 winter transfer window when the club’s backline was heavily depleted under Ange Postecoglou, with Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Radu Dragusin all sidelined.
While Tottenham’s defenders have struggled with injuries, Ndicka has maintained excellent fitness, featuring in all 35 matches for Roma this season. Across his entire career, he has missed only 14 games, highlighting his durability.
Interest in Ndicka is growing, with Manchester United and Liverpool among the Premier League sides monitoring him. European clubs such as Bayern Munich and Besiktas are also keen.
Roma are under financial pressure due to FFP regulations and may consider selling players. Having joined on a free transfer, Ndicka represents a valuable asset, with a fee exceeding €40m (£34.3m) reportedly enough to secure his departure.
Former Roma player Antonio Zago commented on the situation, stating that while Ndicka is young and should remain, the club may still look to bring in a more experienced centre-back.
