Georginio Rutter’s stoppage-time strike denied Tottenham a crucial win in their fight for Premier League survival, as Brighton twice fought back to earn a 2-2 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Pedro Porro gave Spurs the lead in the 39th minute, rising to head home a precise cross from Xavi Simons. However, Kaoru Mitoma responded just before the break, finishing neatly with a side-footed volley into the top of the net.
Simons looked to have sealed the victory with a brilliant long-range effort, but Rutter struck in the 94th minute to rescue a point and leave Roberto De Zerbi’s side stuck in the relegation zone.
