Thomas Frank has departed, and Tottenham are once again searching for a new manager. It remains unclear whether the appointment will be a short-term solution until the end of the season or a long-term successor. What is certain is that Spurs want a new head coach in place by Monday, with the North London Derby just 11 days away.
Several managers have already been linked with the role, and another name has now emerged as a potential candidate.
While Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly at the top of Tottenham’s shortlist, with Roberto De Zerbi and Robbie Keane also viewed as strong options, there are a number of names under consideration.
According to The Telegraph, former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is among those who could be in the frame. Although no formal approach has been made, it is understood that Terzic “would be interested” in taking the Spurs job if offered the opportunity.
The German coach has been out of work since the summer of 2024 but has turned down several high-profile roles across Europe, including the Monaco position. He is believed to be waiting for the right opportunity in the Premier League.
Terzic has previously been linked with Tottenham, and this could present another opportunity for him to move to England. His first spell at Dortmund began in a caretaker capacity, where he won two of his three matches before being appointed permanently. He then recorded 18 wins, four draws, and seven defeats in his next 29 games.
In the summer of 2021, Terzic became Dortmund’s technical director, before returning as head coach the following year. During his second spell in charge, he oversaw 96 matches, winning 55, drawing 20, and losing 21. However, he resigned at the end of the 2023/24 season following reported clashes with senior players over his methods and tactics.
Overall, Terzic secured 75 wins from 128 matches at Dortmund, resulting in a 58.59% win rate.
He also has experience in England, having worked as an assistant manager at West Ham United under Slaven Bilic for more than two years. Terzic previously held the same role at Besiktas, assisting Bilic across 92 matches.
