Antonín Kinský Set for Loan Move After Nightmare at Atlético
Antonín Kinský is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer as he looks to rebuild his career following a disastrous performance against Atlético Madrid. The 22-year-old goalkeeper was substituted just 17 minutes into Tottenham’s 5-2 Champions League last-16 defeat after making two costly errors.
In a harsh scene, Kinský walked straight down the tunnel after being replaced, while interim manager Igor Tudor was criticised for refusing to console him. Sources now suggest Kinský will pursue a loan move away from the club.
According to The Telegraph, Kinský had attempted to secure a loan in the past two transfer windows, seeking regular first-team football. However, both moves were blocked, and he has served as Guglielmo Vicario’s deputy, making only three appearances across all competitions this season.
His long-awaited chance to impress came at the Metropolitano, but two poor clearances led to a third goal by Julián Álvarez, prompting Tudor to take him off. TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher remarked that Kinský was “finished” after the incident.
With Vicario set to resume as number one for Tottenham’s challenging Premier League trip to Liverpool, it remains unclear if Kinský will even be on the bench. Signed for £12.5 million from Slavia Prague in January 2025, the young keeper now faces a crucial loan move to step out of the Spurs spotlight.
Tudor has been widely criticised for his handling of Kinský, with many arguing his failure to acknowledge the goalkeeper’s struggles may have seriously damaged his confidence. Known for his blunt approach with players, Tudor’s management style has compounded Spurs’ issues, leaving the squad’s morale fragile and potentially affecting their Premier League campaign.
