Tottenham Hotspur have already begun mapping out their plans for next season, even as uncertainty remains over their league status.
The Lilywhites are currently just one point above the relegation zone with seven matches left to play. During the international break, they appointed Roberto De Zerbi on a five-year deal, replacing Igor Tudor, who failed to secure a Premier League win during his tenure.
Despite their precarious position, the club remains confident of staying in the top flight, with De Zerbi also believing he can steer them to safety. As a result, preparations for the upcoming summer transfer window are already underway.
Need for a New Striker
Last summer, Spurs addressed their need for a striker under Thomas Frank by signing Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain. The French forward arrived with a strong reputation, having scored 10 goals in 22 appearances for Juventus, including eight in 16 Serie A matches.
However, his time in North London has not gone to plan. An injury delayed his Premier League debut until mid-October, and further fitness issues, along with tactical challenges, have limited his impact. He has managed just five goals in 34 appearances, making a permanent deal unlikely and forcing the club to revisit their search for a striker.
Richarlison is currently the team’s top scorer but appears more likely to leave than stay, while Dominic Solanke has struggled with injuries and has not justified his £60m price tag since arriving two years ago.
Vlahovic Emerges as a Key Target
Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic has emerged as a strong option, with the Serbian potentially available on a free transfer this summer.
Talks over a contract renewal are ongoing, but his high wage demands have complicated negotiations, while AC Milan are also monitoring his situation. Tottenham, however, have maintained a long-standing interest in the 26-year-old and have previously been reported as leading contenders for his signature.
Standing at 6ft 3, Vlahovic combines physical presence with pace, making him well-suited to the Premier League. His goal record is impressive, with 49 goals in 108 games for Fiorentina and 64 in 163 appearances for Juventus. He has also scored at least 14 goals in each of the past three seasons, though injuries have limited him to six so far this campaign.
His profile aligns well with De Zerbi’s tactical approach, which favors a strong striker capable of linking play and finishing chances, making him a natural fit for the system.
