Back in January, AS Roma and AC Milan were both heavily linked with a move for Radu Drăgușin, but neither club could meet Tottenham’s €25m valuation. The Italian sides were only prepared to offer loan deals, while Spurs stood firm on a permanent transfer.
Since then, little has improved for the defender. He has managed just six Premier League starts and has been benched in the last three matches.
Reports from Romania now suggest those close to Drăgușin are pushing for a summer exit. The 24-year-old is said to be increasingly frustrated with his limited playing time, having last started a league match on March 15.
He has now instructed his agent, Florin Manea, to explore transfer options, with early discussions already taking place with clubs in Italy and Germany, though no specific teams have been named. It appears increasingly certain that he will leave Tottenham Hotspur, as he remains unhappy with his current role.
Tottenham, for their part, are also open to selling him this summer, as they have been underwhelmed by his impact since arriving.
Since joining Spurs, Drăgușin has largely played a backup role due to the strong presence of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in central defence. However, based on his performances at Genoa, many believe he deserves more than a fringe role. While not known for his ball-playing ability, his strengths in recovery and aerial dominance have only been seen in flashes at Tottenham.
Still just 24 and approaching his peak years, 2026 is shaping up to be the ideal time for him to secure a permanent move elsewhere.
