Tottenham Hotspur endured a frustrating winter transfer window, failing to strengthen the squad as many supporters had hoped. The club completed just two signings, with Conor Gallagher and Souza adding depth in midfield and at full-back respectively.
In terms of departures, Europa League goalscorer Brennan Johnson left for £35 million to Crystal Palace, reducing Spurs’ attacking options on the wings without bringing in a replacement.
Meanwhile, Radu Drăgușin was the subject of significant transfer interest during the window. Although he was linked with a move to Italy, no deal materialised, and he remained in north London.
His agent, Florin Manea, has now revealed that a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia was rejected. Speaking on the iAM Stucan podcast, Manea disclosed that they turned down a proposal worth €50 million over five years—equivalent to €10 million per year.
He explained that the offer far exceeded Drăgușin’s current wages at Tottenham, with the possibility of it rising even further. Despite the financial appeal, the move was not considered, highlighting the defender’s desire to continue his career in Europe.
Drăgușin, who currently earns around £4.42 million per year at Spurs, has also attracted interest from Germany. Manea confirmed that RB Leipzig made an approach during the winter window, and while no agreement was reached, the situation could develop in the future.
