Liverpool have suffered another injury blow, this time to one of their most exciting young attackers, Jayden Danns, who is expected to be sidelined for an extended period after picking up a hamstring problem.
The 19-year-old was forced off just 30 minutes into Liverpool U21s’ Premier League 2 match against Ipswich Town after sustaining the injury.
Speaking after the Vertu Trophy clash with Crewe Alexandra, U21 manager Rob Page confirmed the severity of the setback and suggested a lengthy recovery.
“It’s not going to be a quick fix — we’re talking a couple of months,” he explained. “It’s unfortunate, but Jayden’s attitude is second to none. He stays positive and has full support from the medical and coaching staff. If anyone can overcome this, it’s him.”
The news comes as a major disappointment for Liverpool supporters who were hoping to see Danns involved more frequently with the senior squad this season. Page had previously labeled him a potential future England No. 9, highlighting his determination and hunger to improve.
The injury follows earlier concerns about his hamstring after the 3–2 loss to Ipswich, with teammate Will Wright also ruled out due to an MCL injury, leaving Liverpool’s youth attack short on options.
Danns, who impressed last season with standout displays in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, has already shown maturity beyond his years. Liverpool will now be hoping his strong mentality and resilience help him return even stronger, with the club still firmly believing in his long-term potential.
