The match had been seen as a must-win, with both sides battling near the bottom of the table. Reports from Football Insider described the fixture as decisive for Tudor’s future, suggesting his position is now under serious threat following the defeat.
Since replacing Thomas Frank, the Croatian has managed just one victory—a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16 second leg, although Spurs were eliminated 7-5 on aggregate. In the league, he has picked up only one point, coming from a draw against Liverpool.
Tudor did not carry out post-match media duties after the loss, having been informed of a bereavement in his immediate family, according to Alasdair Gold.
If the club opts to make a managerial change, they are expected to target someone with experience handling relegation battles in the Premier League. Sean Dyche has been mentioned as a potential option, though he is believed to be reluctant to take the job.
Former Spurs managers Glenn Hoddle and Harry Redknapp have also been linked with a return. Speaking at the Cheltenham Festival, Redknapp hinted at his availability, saying the club knows how to reach him and stressing the need for someone to restore belief in the squad, adding that the team is in serious trouble and faces a tight fight to avoid relegation.
