Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a potential move for a £48 million-rated attacker once described by Mauricio Pochettino as “one of the best” in world football.
Spurs are reportedly among the clubs monitoring AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic ahead of the summer transfer window, with the former Chelsea forward believed to be available for a fee in the region of £48m.
It was a subdued January window for Thomas Frank’s side, with Conor Gallagher arriving as the only senior addition. Teenage left-back Souza also joined the club, though at just 19 years old, he is viewed as a long-term project rather than an immediate first-team solution.
Tottenham also sanctioned the departure of Brennan Johnson, who joined Crystal Palace, but failed to recruit a replacement for the Welsh international. The lack of activity suggested the north London club may have chosen to hold back in January, potentially planning a more ambitious approach in the summer.
According to Calcio Mercato, Spurs are one of several clubs showing interest in Pulisic, as AC Milan assess their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. The report claims the Italian side could be open to selling the American international if a suitable offer is made.
Tottenham are expected to target a new winger following Johnson’s exit, while reinforcements in attacking areas are also likely to be considered. Randal Kolo Muani joined the club on loan from Juventus in 2025, but after an underwhelming spell in north London, a permanent deal appears unlikely.
Spurs are not alone in their interest, with other Premier League clubs also believed to be keen on bringing Pulisic back to England, setting the stage for potential competition for his signature.
The 26-year-old has already received high praise from former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, who currently coaches the United States national team. Pochettino previously described Pulisic as “one of the best attacking players in the world” during his time working with him at international level.
“I think he’s a fantastic player,” Pochettino said. “One of the best offensive players in the world.”
With Pochettino himself linked to a possible return to Tottenham after the World Cup with the USA, the connection between manager and player adds another layer of intrigue to Spurs’ reported interest in Pulisic.
