Rute Cardoso, the widow of late Liverpool F.C. forward Diogo Jota, has posted an emotional Instagram story showing a memorial book gifted to her by supporters during a recent visit to Hong Kong.
The elegant tribute features Jota in his Liverpool kit, accompanied by the heartfelt Portuguese message “Obrigado por tudo Diogo Jota” (“Thank you for everything Diogo Jota”) at the top and “Descansa em Paz 1996–2025” (“Rest in Peace 1996–2025”) at the bottom.
Rute simply captioned the post, “Thank you Hong Kong,” acknowledging where the gift was presented. The memorial — believed to be a book cover — has deeply resonated with the Liverpool community, who continue to mourn Jota more than a year after his tragic passing.
