Tottenham vs Liverpool player ratings: Pedro Porro struggles badly, Guglielmo Vicario costly again

As expected, Liverpool took an early lead against Tottenham, with Dominik Szoboszlai finding the net from distance through a free kick. Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario had little chance to react as the ball beat him.

Liverpool did not create many chances beyond that early goal, but Tottenham’s lack of quality meant the Reds were rarely under real pressure.

Richarlison had a couple of half-chances but failed to convert them, which reflected Tottenham’s overall performance. However, the Brazilian eventually made his final opportunity count, calmly rolling the ball past Alisson Becker to earn Spurs a point.

Despite the draw, Tottenham remain in a worrying position. The club is now winless in five matches under Igor Tudor, leaving his future uncertain as the team continues to hover dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Pedro Porro outplayed by teenage winger

Pedro Porro is often praised for his attacking quality, which can sometimes make up for defensive weaknesses. However, the Spaniard endured another difficult outing against Liverpool.

Teenager Rio Ngumoha caused him constant problems throughout the match, repeatedly getting the better of the Tottenham full-back before Porro was eventually substituted. The Liverpool youngster dribbled past him six times during the game.

Porro also failed to win any of his seven ground duels against Arne Slot’s side, who consistently targeted his flank. While his passing accuracy was around 70 percent, his overall display against Liverpool was one of his poorest performances of the season.

Vicario’s mistake proves costly again

Tottenham’s struggles this season have been caused by several factors, but Vicario’s recent form has been a major concern.

The Italian goalkeeper has been involved in several of the goals Spurs have conceded this season, and the same issue appeared again at Anfield. Szoboszlai’s strike, which had an expected goals on target (xGOT) of just 0.02, still managed to beat him.

Vicario also completed only 39 percent of his attempted long passes during the match, further highlighting Tottenham’s struggles when building from the back.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has previously pointed out Tottenham’s goalkeeping issues, and Vicario’s performance once again raised questions. Liverpool produced very few real chances in the match, and had that early shot been saved, the outcome could have been very different.
