Dominic Solanke injury update: Igor Tudor confirms when the Tottenham Hotspur striker is expected to return.
Tottenham received a boost with the returns of Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall and Conor Gallagher, all of whom featured as substitutes against Atletico Madrid. However, Spurs were without the suspended Richarlison, while Dominic Solanke was missing from the matchday squad.
The England international’s absence raised concerns given his recent comeback from a long-term injury, but Tudor has since delivered reassuring news.
Tudor expects Solanke to be fit for Tottenham’s upcoming clash with Nottingham Forest. Although the striker has appeared slightly off the pace since returning, his importance is clear, having already scored six goals for Spurs, including three in the Champions League.
The Croatian coach confirmed that Solanke is dealing with a minor hip issue and should be available soon. Speaking to TNT Sports before kick-off, he said: “Unfortunately, he has a problem with his hip. It is no big deal. He didn’t make it for today, but I think he will be good for Sunday.”
In attack, Tudor deployed Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani against Atletico, with the duo combining for Tottenham’s opening goal. Xavi Simons, operating in his preferred number 10 role, also impressed with two goals as Spurs secured a 3-2 win on the night but were still eliminated.
There are clear signs of improvement in Tottenham’s attack under Tudor, with Solanke, Richarlison and Bergvall adding depth and quality to the forward options.
