Igor Tudor did not carry out his post-match media duties after Tottenham’s defeat to Nottingham Forest due to a family bereavement. The manager was seen heading straight down the tunnel following Sunday’s 3-0 loss, with reports soon confirming he had received news of an immediate family matter.
As a result, assistant coach Bruno Saltor stepped in to handle media responsibilities. Football.London correspondent Alasdair Gold explained that Tudor would not be attending the press conference, with Saltor addressing journalists instead.
Speaking afterwards, Saltor clarified that Tudor was dealing with a personal family issue and it was best for him to take over. Reflecting on the match, he felt Spurs were the stronger side in the first half but admitted that minor mistakes are currently costing the team, while they have failed to capitalise on opponents’ errors.
Tottenham now turn their attention to an upcoming trip to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, following the international break. However, speculation continues to grow that Tudor could be dismissed before that fixture.
When asked about the situation surrounding the squad and staff, Saltor acknowledged the realities of modern football and stressed the importance of staying focused. He also dismissed suggestions of a mental block at home, noting that opponents are highly motivated when facing a club of Tottenham’s stature, making concentration and intensity crucial.
On concerns about relegation, Saltor admitted results impact everyone but insisted the team must concentrate on what they can control—preparation, mindset, teamwork, and performance.
