Virgil van Dijk has given Liverpool FC supporters reason to stay optimistic that Mohamed Salah may not have made his final appearance for the club just yet.
A month after confirming he will leave at the end of the season, Salah was forced off during the 3–1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday with a suspected hamstring injury. The Egyptian looked visibly emotional as he slowly exited the Anfield pitch, raising immediate concerns about how long he could be sidelined.
Pundits such as Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker even suggested the 33-year-old might not feature for Liverpool again.
However, Van Dijk offered a more reassuring perspective after the match, stressing that the true extent of Salah’s injury will only be known once scan results are available.
