Because of that issue, manager Arne Slot turned to Giorgi Mamardashvili in Istanbul, with the Georgian making just his second appearance for Liverpool since November.
With Tottenham Hotspur set to travel to Anfield this weekend, attention has now turned to whether Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper will recover in time to start. However, a fresh report suggests fans may need to wait a little longer.
According to FourFourTwo, Slot could decide against rushing the Brazilian back into the lineup. The outlet indicated that Alisson might be given additional time to recover due to the tight schedule, especially after Mamardashvili avoided the mistakes that troubled several goalkeepers in European matches this week.

The report also stated that more information could emerge soon when Slot speaks to the media.
FourFourTwo noted that the Liverpool boss is expected to face questions about Alisson and other squad members during his pre-match press conference at the AXA Training Centre on Friday.
That briefing should offer the clearest indication yet about whether the 33-year-old will be fit for the upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham.
Previously, Paul Joyce of The Times reported that Alisson suffered the issue earlier in the week. The journalist revealed that the Brazilian felt discomfort following Monday’s training session and therefore missed the Champions League fixture against Galatasaray.
Joyce also confirmed that Alisson did not travel with the squad to Istanbul, leaving Mamardashvili to step in for the match.
