Paul Merson has predicted the margin of victory he expects when Liverpool F.C. face Tottenham Hotspur F.C., revealing how many goals he thinks Liverpool will win by. ⚽

Paul Merson believes Liverpool F.C. will claim a comfortable win over Tottenham Hotspur F.C. when the two sides meet at Anfield this weekend. ⚽

Liverpool head into Sunday’s Premier League clash hoping to respond after a frustrating 1–0 defeat to Galatasaray S.K. in the Champions League earlier this week, a result that leaves them with work to do in the return leg at Anfield. Despite that setback in Istanbul, Merson believes Tottenham arrive on Merseyside in even worse condition.

Speaking ahead of the game, the former midfielder said he expects Liverpool to dominate the match, suggesting the only real question is the size of the victory. He also raised doubts about the future of Spurs’ interim manager Igor Tudor, asking how long he will remain in charge and who would even want the job right now.

Merson predicted a 3–0 victory for Liverpool, adding that another defeat could pile more pressure on Tudor, whose position is already under heavy scrutiny after a difficult start. Some observers already consider his situation close to untenable, although he is still expected to lead Spurs for the trip to Anfield.

The pundit suggested Tottenham’s hierarchy may wait until after the Liverpool match before making any decisions, but warned that a loss could put Tudor’s future in serious doubt ahead of the club’s crucial relegation clash with Nottingham Forest F.C. next weekend.

Although Liverpool have not been at their best recently, particularly in the defeat in Turkey where chances were missed, Merson still expects the quality in Arne Slot’s squad to shine through. He also believes the Reds can still overturn the deficit against Galatasaray in the second leg next week.

In the end, Merson’s verdict was clear: Liverpool 3–0 Tottenham. 🔴
