Igor Tudor has reportedly been given a strict ultimatum to improve results at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Croatian coach said to have just four matches to prove he deserves to keep his job.
Tottenham’s leadership may have decided to stick with Tudor for the moment, but his position remains under serious threat. According to reports, the 47-year-old must deliver positive performances in the next four games or risk becoming the second Spurs manager to lose his job this season.
Tudor was appointed after Thomas Frank was dismissed following a poor run that dragged the club towards the relegation zone. However, the expected improvement under the new manager has failed to materialize, with Tottenham suffering three straight defeats since his arrival.
Spurs are now just one point above the relegation zone and have not won a Premier League match in 11 games, a streak dating back to December 28. With the club desperate to avoid their first relegation since 1977, another managerial change is being considered.
Although CEO Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange have decided to give Tudor more time, he still faces a major test if he wants to remain in charge until the end of the season.
His next challenge comes against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League round of 16, followed by a difficult Premier League trip to Liverpool F.C.. The second leg against Atlético takes place on March 18, before a crucial relegation clash with Nottingham Forest F.C. on March 22.
If Tottenham fail to show improvement across those fixtures, the club could decide to part ways with Tudor during the upcoming international break.
Behind the scenes, Spurs are already exploring possible replacements. Former club legend Robbie Keane is among the names being discussed, while Roberto De Zerbi is also admired within the club. However, reports suggest De Zerbi may be reluctant to take over immediately due to the current instability and could prefer to consider his options in the summer.
Two additional candidates have reportedly been identified for a potential interim role until the end of the season. According to reports, Ryan Mason and Sean Dyche are being considered as short-term solutions should Tottenham decide to dismiss Tudor.
Alongside them, Keane, De Zerbi and Thiago Motta are also believed to be on Tottenham’s radar as possible long-term appointments, although any move could depend on whether Spurs remain in the Premier League next season.
If Tudor fails to deliver the improvements required, Tottenham are expected to act quickly, with either Dyche or Mason potentially stepping in to guide the team through the remainder of the campaign and help secure their Premier League survival.
